Ninja Gaiden 4 rumored to be the secret game at the Xbox direct.

The Return of the King

So the big news of last week was the return of the Xbox Developer_Direct for 2025. The Xbox Developer Direct will give us new looks at Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and a look at a mystery game that will be revealed during the show. now thanks to windows Central we may have a few mo0re clues on what that game could be.

Windows Central Jez Corden on the Xbox Developer Direct: “There’s also a mysterious fourth game, and I won’t spoil what it is, but our sources indicate that it is a new entry in a legendary Japanese IP which has decades of history, and should make a lot of fans happy.

Corden didn’t spoil anything regarding what the game may be, but did say it has “decades of history”.

“[Our] sources indicate that it is a new entry in a legendary Japanese IP which has decades of history, and should make a lot of fans happy,” he said.

He continued: “Indeed, Microsoft has won some strong support from the region lately from studios like Square Enix for Final Fantasy, HoYoverse for Genshin Impact, and Sega/ATLUS for Persona, and we suspect this new game will help further that trend.”

Now Xbox insider eXtas1s claims he’s “95% sure” on knowing the 4th game being announced at the Xbox Direct, saying he mentioned it on his last video.

The games that he mentions on his video are:

  • New Ninja Gaiden from Koei Tecmo
  • Persona 4 Remake
  • Final Fantasy IX Remake
  • New “Tales of” Game

Now the announcement it self says it’s a “new entry”, so just in my opinion I feel that would rule out any remakes. So that would mean it’s between Ninja Gaiden and a new “Tales of” game now both would be an absolute hype moment for me as a fan of both series but If I had to guess it’s most likely and hopefully Ninja Gaiden.

And with the games long history with Xbox this announcement would just feel right Ninja Gaiden is a 2004 action-adventure game developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo for the Xbox. It was released in March 2004. Set in the futuristic version of the 21st century, players control Ryu Hayabusa, a master ninja, in his quest to recover a stolen sword and avenge the slaughter of his clan. It was inspired by Tecmo’s Ninja Gaiden series, and is set in the same continuity as Team Ninja’s Dead or Alive fighting games.
