Riot Games’ upcoming fighting game, 2XKO, is set to launch with 10 playable characters. In a recent Q&A session, game director Shaun Rivera acknowledged that this number is lower than some might expect but emphasized that releasing with a smaller roster allows the team to prioritize delivering a polished experience sooner. He stated, “we’d rather just get the game out to y’all to play ASAP, instead of keeping it in the oven until we have some number higher of champions.”
The confirmed launch roster includes Ahri, Ekko, Yasuo, Darius, Illaoi, Braum, and Jinx. Katarina, who appeared in early footage, will not be part of the launch lineup. The remaining three champions have yet to be announced.
2XKO is a 2v2 tag-team fighting game that emphasizes strategic team play and dynamic combos. It’s scheduled for release in late 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
