ZeniMax Workers United, representing over 300 quality assurance testers at ZeniMax Media’s Texas and Maryland studios, has overwhelmingly voted (94% in favor) to authorize a strike against parent company Microsoft. This decision comes after nearly two years of contract negotiations without a finalized agreement.
The union’s concerns include inadequate pay, lack of benefits, Microsoft’s return-to-office policies, and the outsourcing of in-house quality assurance work. Notably, in November 2024, the union held a one-day strike addressing these issues.
While the strike authorization doesn’t immediately initiate a strike, it empowers union leadership to call one if negotiations continue to stall. Microsoft has expressed its commitment to reaching a fair resolution, highlighting progress in negotiations and offering proposals they deem equitable.
