The Australian price for the Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube controller has been revealed: it will retail for $89.95 AUD on the official Nintendo Australia store .
Availability & Pre-Order Details
Pre-orders for the GameCube controller will open on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 6:00 PM AEST, exclusively through the My Nintendo Store. However, there are some eligibility requirements:
- You must be a Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) member.
- You need to have at least one year of NSO membership.
- You must have logged 50 hours of gameplay on Nintendo Switch by February 28, 2025 .
The controller is expected to ship on the Switch 2 launch day, June 5, 2025.
Compatibility
It’s important to note that this wireless GameCube controller is designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2 and is intended for use with the GameCube games available through the Nintendo Switch Online service. It may not be compatible with the original Switch console or other games outside the NSO GameCube library .
