Tomb Raider, Project 007, or The Wolf Among Us 2 Could Appear at Summer Game Fest 2025, Says Insider

One of gaming’s most wanted is finally ready to resurface — but which one?

Industry insider NateTheHate has stirred up speculation ahead of this year’s Summer Game Fest, hinting that at least one of three highly anticipated titles—Tomb Raider, Project 007, or The Wolf Among Us 2—may be making an appearance during the showcase.

The comments were made during the latest episode of Nate’s podcast, where he teased that one of these dormant projects is poised for a comeback during Geoff Keighley’s annual summer event. While no specific title was confirmed, the mention alone has reignited hype for all three.

What Could We See at Summer Game Fest?

Tomb Raider
The next installment in the Tomb Raider franchise is being developed by Crystal Dynamics, now operating under Amazon Games as publisher. The game, first teased in 2022, is said to be built using Unreal Engine 5 and will reportedly unify the timelines of classic, Legend, and Survivor-era Lara Croft.

Despite Crystal Dynamics facing internal changes and layoffs over the past year, development has not been halted. Earlier this year, the studio confirmed it was still “fully committed” to delivering an ambitious new entry. With Amazon eager to establish itself in the AAA publishing space, Summer Game Fest may be the ideal venue to finally lift the curtain.

Project 007
IO Interactive’s Project 007 remains one of the most mysterious titles in development. Announced back in 2020, the game promises a wholly original James Bond origin story, diverging from past licensed adaptations.

Earlier this month, IO dropped a cryptic tweet with a silhouette of a tuxedoed figure and the tagline “It starts here,” fueling speculation that a reveal is imminent. Given the studio’s track record with the Hitman trilogy and the rising interest in spy thrillers, Project 007 could easily be one of the headliners at this year’s event.

The Wolf Among Us 2
After years of delays, Telltale Games’ long-awaited The Wolf Among Us 2 has re-entered the conversation. First announced in 2019 and then delayed multiple times, the sequel to the cult-favourite graphic adventure was re-confirmed in development last year with help from external studio AdHoc.

Telltale has remained tight-lipped but did reassure fans earlier this year that progress is being made and that they’re aiming for a “polished and faithful” continuation of Bigby’s story. If it’s ready to be shown, Summer Game Fest would be the perfect place to rekindle excitement.

What Nate Said

On his podcast, Nate stated:

“There’s a good chance that one of Tomb Raider, Project 007, or The Wolf Among Us 2 shows up at Summer Game Fest next month. I won’t say which, but one is definitely closer than people think.”

This kind of teaser aligns with Nate’s past track record. The insider has previously leaked accurate information on Metroid Dread, Hi-Fi Rush, and Alan Wake II long before official reveals.

When is Summer Game Fest 2025?

Summer Game Fest 2025 is scheduled for June 6, with a live showcase hosted by Geoff Keighley at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles. As always, the event promises world premieres, gameplay reveals, and major publisher appearances.

With Xbox, PlayStation, and a handful of third-party studios confirmed to be participating, the likelihood of at least one of these high-profile titles appearing has gone up significantly.
