If Lies of P twisted your brain and broke your thumbs in all the best ways last year, you’re going to want to clear your calendar. Developer Neowiz just shadow dropped the game’s first major DLC, Lies of P: Overture, during Summer Game Fest 2025 and yes, it’s available right now.
Set before the events of the main game, Overture takes us back to Krat before the streets turned into a puppeteer’s nightmare. But don’t expect a peaceful stroll through the city’s golden age this expansion brings new monsters, new weapons, and new layers of lore to the already haunting Lies of P mythos.
A Prequel With Bite
Overture rewinds the clock to show the dark unravelling of Krat as the Puppet Frenzy looms. It’s a tale full of betrayal, desperation, and some of the best gothic set pieces Neowiz has crafted yet. This isn’t just filler it’s essential backstory for anyone who found themselves wrapped up in the fate of Pinocchio and his twisted puppet world.
From opulent opera houses to industrial wastelands, Overture adds some gorgeous and grotesque new environments to explore. And with each new area comes deadly new threats.
New Weapons, New Foes, Same Pain
Let’s talk gear. One standout addition is a set of Wolverine-style claws that turns our puppet protagonist into a whirlwind of stylish violence. There are also several new weapon types and Legion Arm abilities to experiment with, each adding a bit more spice to the already-tight combat loop.
Enemies? Brutal. Bosses? Even worse. One early highlight: a towering crocodile monstrosity that could give Sekiro’s Guardian Ape a run for its money. Overture doesn’t pull any punches this is still a Soulslike, after all but new difficulty settings introduced via a free update help make it more approachable for newcomers.
More Than Just DLC
Alongside Overture, Neowiz dropped a meaty patch that includes Battle Memories (re-fight old bosses), a Boss Rush mode, and new customization options for weapons and outfits. Whether you’re just starting out or diving back in after a long break, there’s a ton to keep you busy.
The DLC reportedly offers 15–20 hours of new content, which is more than some full-priced games.
If Lies of P left you hungry for more puppetry, pain, and pre-industrial panic, Overture is a no-brainer. Now get in there and fight some nightmares.
