Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will finally be making its way to Xbox Series X|S consoles this winter, bringing one of the most acclaimed RPG remakes of the generation to an entirely new audience.
Originally launched in 2020 for PlayStation 4, Final Fantasy VII Remake reimagined the first chapter of the 1997 classic. The Intergrade version, released on PlayStation 5 in 2021 and later on PC, includes significant visual upgrades and an exclusive DLC episode titled Episode INTERmission, which stars fan-favorite ninja Yuffie Kisaragi.
A Long-Awaited Arrival on Xbox
This marks the first time Final Fantasy VII Remake will be playable on Xbox consoles. The Xbox Series version will include the full Intergrade package: the base game with enhanced visuals and performance, plus the Yuffie-centric DLC that expands the story and teases new threads leading into Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
The announcement was made during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and comes alongside the surprise release of Final Fantasy XVI on Xbox Series X|S signalling a renewed commitment from Square Enix to bring its blockbuster RPGs to Microsoft platforms.
For Xbox players who have waited years to experience the Remake saga, Intergrade serves as the ultimate starting point. With updated lighting, textures, faster load times, and more fluid combat at 60FPS, the game shines on next-gen hardware. Episode INTERmission also introduces new combat mechanics and characters, offering a glimpse at what’s to come in future chapters.
Release Window
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will launch on Xbox Series X|S in 2026. An exact release date has yet to be confirmed, but players can expect more information closer to the end of the year.
