The Next Tales of Remaster Will Be Revealed This Summer

Bandai Namco Teases Return of a Fan-Favourite Entry – But Which One?

Bandai Namco is at it again. Hot off the heels of Tales of Graces f Remastered, the publisher has officially confirmed that the next title in its Tales of Remastered Project will be announced this summer. A teaser dropped on June 8, 2025, via the official Tales of Series X (formerly Twitter) account, simply stating: “We have some big news coming… Stay tuned.”

Naturally, the fandom is already in overdrive. While the teaser offers no explicit details, years of speculation and a few well-timed leaks suggest that Tales of Xillia and possibly Tales of Xillia 2 may be next in line for a modern re-release.

A Pattern of Celebration

The move aligns perfectly with Bandai Namco’s commitment to celebrating the Tales of series’ 30th anniversary, an effort that began in earnest with the release of Tales of Graces f Remastered earlier this year. That release boasted HD visuals, streamlined menus, faster combat load times, and more than 80 pieces of previously released DLC baked into the base game.

Series producer Yusuke Tomizawa has made it clear that Bandai Namco intends to continue issuing remasters “fairly consistently” throughout the anniversary period. The goal is twofold: preserve beloved entries for a new generation of players, and reintroduce older, less accessible titles to a modern audience.

Xillia Rumors Gain Steam

Out of all the legacy entries in the franchise, Tales of Xillia and Xillia 2 stand out as obvious candidates for the next remaster. Released on the PlayStation 3 in 2011 and 2012 respectively, the duology was never ported beyond that platform. That means they’ve been locked away for over a decade making them prime remaster material.

What adds fuel to the fire is a rumour that surfaced last year, alleging that a Tales of Xillia Remastered collection was already in development. At the time, screenshots supposedly showing upgraded character models and UI elements began circulating, though Bandai Namco has never officially commented. With this latest teaser, fans are hoping that silence is finally about to be broken.

The Bigger Picture

Whether the next remaster turns out to be Xillia, Abyss, or another beloved title altogether, this announcement reinforces Bandai Namco’s clear mission: honour the past, modernize the classics, and keep the Tales of legacy alive for the next generation.

As the summer heats up, so does anticipation. One thing’s for sure Tales of fans will want to keep a close eye on official channels over the next few months. Please be Xillia.

Stay tuned. We’ll be covering it all.
