Donkey Kong Bananza Nintendo Direct Set for June 18 Aussie Fans Have A Late One

Bananas, barrels, and a brand-new beginning

Nintendo has officially confirmed a brand-new Nintendo Direct presentation dedicated entirely to Donkey Kong Bananza, airing on Tuesday, June 18 at 6 AM PT / 11 PM AEST for Aussie viewers. The showcase will run for approximately 15 minutes, offering the most in-depth look yet at Donkey Kong’s bold new 3D comeback.

This marks Donkey Kong’s first full solo spotlight in a Nintendo Direct in years, and it’s all leading up to the release of Bananza next month on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Donkey Kong Goes Big (Again)

Donkey Kong Bananza is a brand-new 3D action-adventure platformer, and Donkey Kong’s first fully 3D outing since Donkey Kong 64 in 1999. In this all-new title, the famous ape ventures into the Underground World, a massive, interconnected realm filled with ancient ruins, hi-tech VoidCo facilities, and plenty of banana-fuelled chaos.

Donkey Kong must retrieve his Golden Bananas after they’re stolen by a mysterious megacorp known as VoidCo. Along the way, he’ll battle robotic enemies, uncover ancient secrets, and unlock powerful abilities that reshape how players explore the world.
