The headline basically covers it, after months of community concern and a little outrage, Battlefield Studios have announced that the Open Beta will feature official playlists with “Signature Weapons locked to a class, or not.”
The currently closed Battlefield Labs testing sessions have allowed players to pick any gun regardless of their class, traditionally in Battlefield most guns have been class locked for example Snipers are only available to the Recon class. In the upcoming release, usage of the class appropriate guns was to be rewarded with perks, but many fans felt it was at the cost of Battlefield’s identity.
Hopefully Battlefield Studios is transparent with the data collected from the beta, regardless of the outcome.
