The world of Guilty Gear Strive is about to get a whole lot more dangerous and stylish. In a groundbreaking crossover, Arc System Works has announced that Lucyna “Lucy” Kushinada, the fan-favorite netrunner from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, will be joining the Strive roster as a playable fighter on August 21, 2025.
This marks the first-ever guest character in the Guilty Gear franchise’s history, and fans couldn’t be more excited or surprised. Revealed during EVO 2025, the news drew immediate reactions from both fighting game veterans and cyberpunk diehards alike. The collaboration between Arc System Works and CD Projekt Red blends two radically different visual and narrative styles, yet somehow, Lucy fits perfectly into the chaos and flair of Strive.
A Cyberpunk In a Gearhead’s World
In Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Lucy made her mark with a stoic exterior and a deeply vulnerable core. Her sleek combat style, which focused on speed, quickhacks, and surgical precision, became iconic. Translating that into the realm of Guilty Gear meant some creative adjustments. ArcSys has built her moveset around her Monowire, Unity pistol, and a RAM-based hacking system that mimics her netrunning abilities from the anime and game.
During gameplay, Lucy can execute hacks mid-fight, interfering with her opponent’s vision, movement, or defense systems. These “quickhacks” consume RAM represented by a unique in-fight gauge and include effects like Algorithm Malfunction and Optics Inhibition. Essentially, she breaks the rules of the fight without actually breaking the game.
It’s a new mechanic for Strive, one that adds another strategic layer to an already deeply technical fighter.
A New Direction for Strive
Lucy’s arrival wraps up Season Pass 4, which also includes returning characters Dizzy and Venom, as well as a brand-new fighter named Unika. According to developers, Lucy is the last addition in this season but possibly the first of more collaborations to come.
While there’s no word yet on what’s next, Arc System Works has confirmed a Version 2.00 update slated for 2026, suggesting that the future of Strive is still wide open.

Lucy’s addition to Guilty Gear Strive is more than fan service. It’s a sign that fighting games are evolving not just mechanically, but in how they connect with the wider gaming and pop culture ecosystem. This crossover, unlikely as it may have seemed, feels earned.
She’s not just a guest. She belongs.
