Fate Trigger Heads to Early Access on PC in Early 2026

Keen for this one

A brand-new roguelite action RPG, Fate Trigger, has been officially announced for PC, with the developers confirming an Early Access release in Q1 2026.

A Roguelite With a Twist

Developed by an independent studio that blends talent from both Western and Japanese backgrounds, Fate Trigger is described as a fast-paced action RPG where every run changes the player’s destiny. The game combines real-time combat, branching story events, and a progression system tied to “fate choices” that reshape not just the current playthrough but also unlock long-term upgrades across runs.

According to the announcement, Fate Trigger will feature multiple playable characters at launch, each with unique abilities and skill trees. Runs will center around surviving procedurally generated dungeons filled with traps, bosses, and narrative encounters that can shift based on player decisions.

Early Access Roadmap

The developers outlined that the Early Access launch will include:

  • Three playable characters.
  • Four dungeon biomes.
  • Dozens of unlockable weapons and fate-altering upgrades.
  • A core narrative loop that ties player choices across multiple runs.

Over the course of Early Access, additional content will be added, including new characters, dungeons, and story arcs. The team expects the game to remain in Early Access for 12 to 18 months before a full release.

Community-Driven Development

The developers emphasized that community feedback will play a central role in shaping Fate Trigger. Features like balance tweaks, new mechanics, and even additional narrative branches will be adjusted based on player input.

With its blend of roguelite action and branching RPG storytelling, Fate Trigger is already drawing attention from fans of games like Hades and Dead Cells. Whether it can carve out its own space in the crowded roguelite scene remains to be seen, but the Early Access launch in Q1 2026 will give players a first taste of fate-bending action.
