Sony Interactive Entertainment Reveals Preliminary Line-up for TGS 2025

Sony’s Turn

Sony Interactive Entertainment has pulled the curtain back on its early plans for this year’s Tokyo Game Show, giving fans a taste of what they’ll be able to experience when the doors open at Makuhari Messe on September 25–28, 2025.

The publisher is leading with a strong selection of playable titles, anchored by Ghost of Yotei, the anticipated follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima. The game is shaping up to be one of Sony’s most talked-about projects this year, and its appearance at TGS ensures that Japanese fans will be among the first to get hands-on with it.

Alongside Ghost of Yotei, Sony will also showcase Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a new fighting game that puts Marvel’s heroes and villains in the spotlight. While details remain scarce, its presence at the booth indicates that Sony wants the game to make a big impression with the fighting game community in Japan.

On the lighter side of the line-up, visitors will also find Astro Bot in the Family Game Area. Fresh off its Game of the Year 2024 win, the charming platformer is expected to be a big draw for younger audiences and families attending the show. Its inclusion highlights Sony’s effort to cover multiple demographics something the company has emphasized at past shows as well.

Sony won’t just be on the show floor. Company president and CEO Hideaki Nishino is scheduled to deliver a keynote on the opening day titled “Game Distribution Innovation: The Impact of PlayStation Store.” The session is expected to touch on Sony’s strategy for digital distribution, which continues to play an increasingly central role in its business model.

This year’s TGS is shaping up to be the biggest in the event’s history, with more than 770 exhibitors and over 4,000 booths confirmed. Sony’s presence spans the General Exhibition Area, the Indie Game Area, and the Family Game Area, signaling a broad approach to its showcase.

While this is only a preliminary lineup, it sets the stage for what could be an exciting show for PlayStation fans. Sony has a track record of saving a few surprises for the actual event, so expectations are already building for additional reveals, trailers, or announcements to complement the confirmed playable titles.

With just under a month to go, all eyes will be on how Sony positions its PlayStation brand at one of the world’s most influential gaming events.
