Batman: Arkham Shadow Sequel Confirmed by Voice Actor

Fans of the Dark Knight can look forward to more adventures in Gotham’s shadows, as a sequel to Batman: Arkham Shadow has been quietly confirmed. The news didn’t come from Warner Bros. or Meta, but rather from one of the game’s stars.

Mark Rolston, the veteran actor who voices Commissioner Jim Gordon, let the information slip during a recent panel appearance at Fan Expo Chicago. Speaking about his work on the VR title, Rolston mentioned that the team is “about to start another one of those,” directly referencing a follow-up to Arkham Shadow.

While studios often stay tight-lipped about projects in development, comments from key voice actors tend to carry weight. Rolston’s statement strongly suggests that recording sessions are already being scheduled, which typically happens once a sequel has moved into active production.

The first Arkham Shadow, developed by Camouflaj and released exclusively for Meta Quest headsets, set itself apart from Rocksteady’s mainline Arkham series. Rather than delivering another open-world brawler, the VR entry placed players directly under Batman’s cowl, creating an intimate and atmospheric take on Gotham. Reviews were mixed on the game’s mechanics but consistently praised its presentation and story-driven approach.

A sequel makes sense, given the rising push for VR-exclusive content and the enduring popularity of the Arkham name. Meta has positioned the original as one of its flagship titles, and a follow-up could help cement VR’s role in delivering big-budget superhero experiences.

At this point, Warner Bros. and Meta haven’t issued an official press release confirming the sequel. Still, Rolston’s comments indicate that the project is at least in its early stages. With voice work being prepared, it could be several years before fans see the next installment, though news may surface sooner if Meta plans to feature it at one of its upcoming showcases.

For now, fans can take comfort in knowing Gotham’s watchful protector isn’t done yet. If Rolston’s slip is anything to go by, Batman will soon return to the headset in a brand-new chapter.
