Capcom has officially lifted the curtain on Mega Man Star Force: Legacy Collection, bringing the cult-favorite Nintendo DS series to modern consoles and PC. The bundle, due out in 2026, will include all seven entries from the original run, giving fans a long-awaited chance to revisit Geo Stelar and his digital partner Omega-Xis in a more accessible package.
Originally released between 2006 and 2009, the Star Force games built on the battle network formula but shifted to a new cast, new story, and a unique card-based combat system that played out on a 3D battlefield. While the series never reached the same level of popularity as Mega Man Battle Network, it has held onto a dedicated fan base that has been asking for a re-release for over a decade.
The new collection adapts the DS’s dual-screen setup for single-screen play, with Capcom reworking menus and displays so the action remains fluid. Online functionality is also included, meaning players can trade battle cards and square off in head-to-head matches just like they could on the DS, only now without the hassle of local Wi-Fi setups.
Capcom is also adding a museum mode packed with design sketches, promotional art, and a music player featuring tracks from across the series. It’s the same kind of archival approach the publisher has taken with the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection and earlier classic compilations.
The Star Force games were originally locked to the DS hardware, so this re-release marks their first official appearance on non-Nintendo systems. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC will all be able to dive in when the collection launches in 2026.
While Capcom has not yet shared a price or details on whether there will be a physical release, the announcement alone has been enough to reignite interest in one of Mega Man’s most overlooked spin-offs. For fans who missed the series the first time, or those who simply want an easier way to replay it, this collection could be the definitive way to experience Geo Stelar’s journey from start to finish.
