Blue Protocol: Star Resonance Launches October

Not long now

Bandai Namco has confirmed that Blue Protocol: Star Resonance will finally make its Western debut on October 9, 2025, marking the next major step in the publisher’s ambitious online RPG project. After a long wait and multiple regional rollouts in Asia, players across North America, South America, and Europe will be able to dive in at launch.

The new version is being positioned as more than just a simple port. Star Resonance expands on the original free-to-play action RPG with features designed to smooth the experience for global audiences. The game will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, along with iOS and Android, with full cross-platform play and shared progression across devices. This means someone grinding quests on a desktop can seamlessly switch to mobile and pick up right where they left off.

Alongside the release date, Bandai Namco highlighted a partnership with Crunchyroll. Subscribers to the anime streaming service will receive exclusive in-game cosmetics, tapping into the game’s strong anime-inspired aesthetic. It’s a strategic crossover that makes sense, considering how much Blue Protocol wears its anime roots on its sleeve.

For those unfamiliar, Blue Protocol offers an action-heavy combat system wrapped in a lush cel-shaded art style. Players can swap between several weapon classes, each with its own skills and playstyle, while teaming up in parties to take down oversized enemies. The world itself is vibrant and story-driven, aiming to feel closer to an episodic anime adventure than a traditional MMO grind.

The original Japanese release had a rocky start, but Bandai Namco seems confident this new rollout will avoid the same pitfalls. The publisher has stressed improved server stability, refined UI elements, and a more generous early progression curve. Mobile support also broadens the audience dramatically, positioning Star Resonance as both a console-style RPG and a game you can check into during a commute.

With Blue Protocol: Star Resonance set to launch on October 9, fans won’t have long to wait before they can explore the updated world together. Whether the global release can establish a steady community in a market crowded with live-service titles will be the real test. But for anime RPG fans, this is one of the fall’s most intriguing releases.
