Team Ninja has announced the first major DLC for Ninja Gaiden 4, titled “The Two Masters.” The expansion is set to launch in early 2026 and promises to deliver new story content, bosses, and combat mechanics that expand on the game’s already intense action.
According to early details, The Two Masters will introduce a dual-protagonist storyline centred on Ryu Hayabusa and a mysterious returning character from the series’ past. Players will reportedly be able to switch between both characters mid-combat, opening up new tactical possibilities and combo chains.
While Team Ninja hasn’t revealed full gameplay footage yet, the studio confirmed that the DLC will feature new weapon types, additional challenge missions, and a “Master Trials” mode designed to push even veteran players to their limits.
Director Fumihiko Yasuda described The Two Masters as “a reflection of everything Ninja Gaiden stands for speed, precision, and discipline.” He went on to say that the expansion will tie up certain narrative threads from the main game while teasing what’s next for the series.
The DLC is expected to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in the first quarter of 2026.
