Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt Officially Going Offline in April 2026

Another One Bites the Dust

It’s the end of an era for Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt. Developer Sharkmob AB has confirmed that the game’s servers will be shut down on April 28, 2026, marking the end of its time as a live service title.

The announcement came on October 27, 2025, and while many fans saw the writing on the wall, it still hits hard for those who’ve been keeping Prague’s skyline alive with gunfire and fangs. Sharkmob explained that player numbers have dropped below a sustainable level, making it impossible to continue supporting the servers long term.

Released in 2022, Bloodhunt aimed to carve a space for itself in the crowded battle royale genre by infusing it with the lore and atmosphere of Vampire: The Masquerade. Players took on the roles of vampires from various clans, battling each other while trying to maintain the titular Masquerade an unspoken rule forbidding exposure of their existence to humans. Its mix of parkour, supernatural powers, and modern weaponry gave it a unique identity that earned a passionate, if niche, following.

Unfortunately, passion alone couldn’t keep the numbers up. Sharkmob noted that the team had explored multiple options to keep the game running but ultimately decided that maintaining live servers was no longer feasible. The studio has already disabled token purchases, and any remaining in-game currency can be spent until the shutdown date. Once the servers go offline, any unused tokens and player data will be lost permanently.

“From the beginning, Bloodhunt was built as a labour of love,” the developers wrote in their statement. “We’re incredibly proud of what we achieved together with our community. It hurts to say goodbye, but we want to thank everyone who joined us on this journey.”

The shutdown announcement has sparked mixed reactions within the community. Many players expressed sadness but also gratitude for the memories they made in Prague’s moody streets. Others voiced frustration over the lack of an offline mode or private server support, which would allow the game to live on beyond its official closure.

For now, Bloodhunt remains fully playable on PC and PlayStation 5. Matches are still being found quickly, and the developers have promised to keep the experience stable right up until the servers close. If you’ve been curious about trying the game, you still have a few months left to sink your teeth into it.

It’s always tough to see a game like this fade away, especially one that dared to do something different in a space dominated by giants. Bloodhunt may not have conquered the genre, but it left a distinct mark a reminder that even in the dark, creativity can shine bright for a time.
