Toy Tactics Heads to Consoles in Early 2026

Very Keen

Kraken Empire’s creative blend of physics and real-time strategy, Toy Tactics, is officially marching onto consoles in early 2026. Publisher Joystick Ventures confirmed that the game will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch during the first quarter of next year.

First released on PC in 2023 through early access and fully launched in September 2024, Toy Tactics quickly found a small but passionate community. Its quirky premise commanding toy soldiers on chaotic, physics-driven battlefields stood out in a genre usually defined by rigid formations and predictable skirmishes.

What makes Toy Tactics unique is its control system. Instead of dragging units or issuing single commands, players literally draw formations on the ground: wedges, circles, or defensive lines that the miniature armies then try to follow. It’s a simple idea that feels surprisingly intuitive, allowing players to improvise during the heat of battle rather than pause and plan.

Although no specific release date has been confirmed, the Q1 2026 window suggests a launch sometime between January and March. Given its performance on PC and the developer’s ongoing updates, fans are hopeful that the port will be polished and optimized for each system.

With its blend of physics-based tactics and charming toy-box visuals, Toy Tactics feels like a perfect fit for consoles especially the Switch, where its pick-up-and-play nature could shine. For players tired of overly serious strategy games, this might be one worth keeping an eye on as the new year approaches.
