Tomb Raider (2013) has shadow dropped on Switch & Switch 2

Nice!

Seemingly out of nowhere, Tomb Raider (2013) Definitive Edition has released on the Nintendo Switch 1 & 2.

Available on the Nintendo eShop for $27.30 AUD ($24.57 AUD with launch discount), Tomb Raider Definitive Edition includes the whole game, DLC, extras like concept art and surprisingly, the multiplayer.

Some of this info in this article has been sourced from this awesome video from SwitchUp which includes gameplay and extra info, absolutely a great watch for those interested:

The Switch 1 & 2 versions are separate versions of the game and no upgrade path currently exists to get to the Switch 2 version from the Switch 1 version.

As for performance, the Switch 1 version runs at 30 fps aligning closely with the original PS3/X360 release and the Switch 2 version is mostly the same at a higher resolution, a few additional details in the graphics and 60 fps, still aligning closely with the original release.

For anyone fresh to Tomb Raider 2013, it’s an amazing game and absolutely worth your 12 hours. Here is the description from the eShop:

The cinematic action-adventure that forced Lara Croft to grow from an inexperienced young woman into a hardened survivor has been re-built for next-gen consoles, featuring an obsessively detailed Lara and a stunningly lifelike world. Lara must endure high-octane combat, customize her weapons and gear, and overcome grueling environments to survive her first adventure and uncover the island’s deadly secret.

It’s been a while since we’ve had some positive Tomb Raider news, so this is a nice treat!
