South of Midnight Reportedly Heading to Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 in Spring 2026

South of Midnight, the stylish Southern-gothic action-adventure game from Compulsion Games, is reportedly expanding beyond its originally announced platforms. According to new industry chatter, the studio’s upcoming title is now planned to launch on Nintendo’s next-generation Switch 2 and the PlayStation 5 in Spring 2026.

While the game was first revealed as an Xbox and PC title, the rumour mill around Compulsion has been extremely active in recent months, suggesting a wider multiplatform approach for several of its future projects. South of Midnight appears to be one of the first beneficiaries of that shift, opening the door for a much broader audience.

The move would also align with a growing trend across the industry, where once-exclusive titles are making the leap to multiple platforms either at launch or shortly after to ensure the highest possible reach. Given the unique tone and art direction of South of Midnight, a multi-platform release could give the game a better shot at gaining traction outside the Xbox ecosystem.

Although neither Xbox, Compulsion Games, nor Nintendo has made any official statements about this expanded release rollout, the Spring 2026 window keeps circulating from the same group of leakers who accurately reported previous Xbox publishing changes earlier this year.

Until an announcement is made, all eyes are on The Game Awards and the early 2026 showcase season, where the next big update for South of Midnight is expected to surface.

If confirmed, players across all major consoles may soon find themselves exploring the haunting backroads and twisted folklore of the American South no matter which platform they prefer.
