Atomic Arcade has officially been shut down, according to a statement from the studio’s developer marking a sudden and unfortunate end for the team.
The closure raises immediate questions about the fate of the studio’s previously announced Snake Eyes project, based on the iconic G.I. Joe character.
However, Hasbro says the game itself isn’t dead.
Studio Closure Confirmed
While details surrounding the shutdown remain limited, a developer from Atomic Arcade confirmed that the studio has closed its doors. No further clarification has been provided regarding layoffs, restructuring, or whether any staff have transitioned elsewhere.
Atomic Arcade had been working on a game centred around Snake Eyes, one of the most recognizable characters in the G.I. Joe universe. The project had generated early interest simply due to the strength of the IP alone.
Now, with the studio closed, uncertainty naturally follows.

Hasbro Responds
In a statement addressing concerns, Hasbro confirmed that the Snake Eyes game remains in development.
According to the company, “the team is currently taking time to evaluate the path forward for the game.”
That wording suggests the project is not cancelled but it may be undergoing reassessment. Whether that means moving development internally, shifting to a new studio, or significantly altering scope remains unclear.
At this stage, Hasbro has not shared a revised timeline, development partner, or release window.
For now, all we know is this
Atomic Arcade is gone.
The Snake Eyes game isn’t at least not yet.
And until Hasbro provides further updates, the project sits in a holding pattern while its future is reassessed.
