Wolfenstein 3 might finally be moving forward.
A newly uncovered casting call, first reported by MP1st, appears to offer our first concrete look at the next entry in the long-running series. The project is reportedly operating under the codename “Valkyrie,” and the details point toward early production activity already underway.
While there’s still no official announcement from Bethesda or MachineGames, the pieces are starting to line up.
Codename ‘Valkyrie’ And Familiar Names Attached
The casting call is reportedly tied to two key creatives with strong ties to MachineGames:
- Tom Keegan (Performance Director)
- Emily Schweber (Casting Director)
Keegan previously directed performances on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, further linking the project to MachineGames’ internal talent pool.
That connection alone adds weight to speculation that this is indeed Wolfenstein 3.
Early Plot Details Emerge
According to the casting materials, the story centers around a new character named Sofiya.
She’s described as:
- A Ukrainian orphan
- Between 8 and 11 years old
- Traumatized by war
- Suspicious of others, but ultimately resilient
Sofiya reportedly forms a bond with William Blazkowicz, the franchise’s long-standing protagonist.
The introduction of a young war survivor suggests a potentially more personal narrative direction something MachineGames leaned into heavily in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
If accurate, this would mark a tonal continuation of the character-driven storytelling the studio established in previous entries.
Production Timeline Hints
The casting call also reportedly outlines an early production schedule:
- Performance capture beginning in April
- Shooting dates planned for later in 2026
- Work extending into the following year
If those details hold, Wolfenstein 3 may still be several years away from release but active development appears to be progressing.
MachineGames Has Never Ruled It Out
Earlier this month, MachineGames studio director Jerk Gustafsson reiterated that the team never considered the franchise finished. While he declined to comment on a timeline, he confirmed the studio always intended to return.
Taken together the codename, returning staff, casting details, and scheduling this feels less like rumour and more like a project slowly stepping into the light.
There’s still no official confirmation.
But if “Valkyrie” is truly Wolfenstein 3, we may finally be inching toward the conclusion of the modern trilogy.
