MOUSE: P.I. For Hire Delayed to April 2026, Devs Say Extra Time Will “Polish the Toon Noir Experience”

Small delay

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire

Fans eager to step into the black-and-white world of MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will have to wait just a little longer.

Developer Fumi Games has confirmed that the stylized first-person shooter has been delayed from its previously planned March 19 release date to April 16, 2026. The delay is relatively short, but it pushes the game out by nearly a month as the team works to finalize the experience.

While the announcement didn’t come with a lengthy statement, the implication is clear: the developers want a bit more time to refine the game before it hits players’ hands.

For a project as visually distinct as MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, that extra time could make a big difference.

A Short Delay But Likely a Smart One

A four-week delay might not sound like much, but these smaller delays often mean a game is very close to the finish line.

In many cases, studios use this extra time to handle:

  • Bug fixes and stability improvements
  • Final animation polish
  • Gameplay balancing
  • Certification requirements across platforms

Given how animation-heavy MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is, even small refinements could noticeably improve the final product.

And considering how crowded release calendars can get, making sure the game launches in its best possible state is likely the right move.
