Yoshi and the Mysterious Book Launching May 21 for Switch 2

New Yoshi game gets a date for MAR10 Day.

Nintendo has announced that Yoshi and the Mysterious Book will launch on May 21 for the Nintendo Switch 2.

The new adventure puts players back in control of Yoshi, this time exploring a strange interactive world that exists inside the pages of a magical book.

A Living Book Full of Creatures

At the center of the game is a talking book named Mr. E, who has lost track of the creatures that live within his pages. Yoshi is tasked with helping him rediscover them by traveling through different habitats contained inside the book.

Each page represents a new environment filled with unusual creatures. Players will explore these areas while experimenting with the wildlife to learn more about them.

According to Nintendo, curiosity is the key to progress. Players are encouraged to try different interactions to see how each creature reacts.

Experimentation Drives the Adventure

Rather than simply observing creatures, players can actively interact with them in a variety of ways. The game encourages experimentation, allowing players to:

  • Carry creatures around
  • Smash objects in the environment
  • Feed creatures fruit
  • Test how they respond to different situations

Each interaction helps players uncover new discoveries about the creatures and the habitats they live in.

As players experiment, they’ll collect Stars, unlock additional pages in Mr. E’s book, and gradually uncover more of the strange ecosystem hidden inside.

Players can even give each creature their own name, adding a personal touch to the adventure.

Bowser Jr. Is Causing Trouble

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper adventure in the Super Mario universe without some chaos.

During Yoshi’s journey, Bowser Jr. begins appearing inside various habitats throughout the book. Exactly what he’s doing there and how he ended up inside Mr. E’s pages remains a mystery.

Players will have to keep exploring to uncover what role Bowser Jr. plays in the unfolding story.

With its unusual concept and focus on experimentation, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book looks set to offer a different kind of platforming adventure when it launches May 21 for Nintendo Switch 2.
