Limited Run Games has outlined a renewed direction for the company, centering on what it describes as a “fan-first” approach one that aims to address long-standing concerns around communication, fulfilment, and overall consistency.
The announcement comes alongside a shift in leadership. Former president Josh Fairhurst has stepped down from the role, with responsibilities now split between COO Nic Ashford and CFO Brendan Madigan. The two will jointly oversee operations and fulfillment, while Madigan will also handle business performance and partner support.
Rounding out the leadership group is Chris Pirrotta, VP of Marketing & Fan Experience, who brings more than 25 years of experience working with community-driven platforms and collector-focused businesses. Pirrotta is set to lead the company’s fan-first initiatives across marketing, communication, and community engagement.
At its core, Limited Run says its mission hasn’t changed physical game preservation, premium releases, and collector’s editions remain central to what it does. What is changing, though, is how the company plans to interact with its audience.
The publisher is promising a more transparent and predictable experience for customers, starting with significantly improved communication. That includes a regular cadence of blog posts, social media updates, and email outreach aimed at keeping buyers informed about product timelines, development progress, and delivery expectations.
It’s a direct response to one of the most common criticisms surrounding Limited Run: long wait times paired with limited updates. Going forward, the company says fans can expect clearer release status breakdowns, more consistent updates on in-progress projects, and proactive notifications when key milestones shift.
Importantly, Limited Run is also setting expectations early this reset won’t be instant.
As part of the overhaul, the company is reviewing all current projects under what it describes as a higher standard for both quality and communication. That process is expected to lead to updated timelines for some releases. When delays do happen, Limited Run says it will provide direct explanations, revised target windows, and clear next steps so customers can track progress more easily.
There’s also a renewed emphasis on fundamentals: product quality, reliable fulfillment, and making sure that what’s promised at announcement is delivered with fewer surprises along the way.
For a company built around collectors and limited releases, trust is a big part of the equation. Limited Run’s latest messaging suggests it’s aware of that and that this shift isn’t about changing what it sells, but how it supports the people buying it.
More details on specific fan-facing improvements are expected in the coming weeks. For now, Limited Run Games is positioning this as a reset moment one focused less on expansion and more on getting the basics right and as someone who’s been buying form them from the beginning this is welcome news.
