Konami has announced that it will raise employee base salaries for the fifth consecutive fiscal year, continuing a trend the company says is aimed at improving workplace stability and long-term employee satisfaction.
The salary increase will apply to regular employees at Konami’s Japan domestic group companies, with the raise set to take effect in March 2027, according to the company. Konami says the move is part of its ongoing effort to create a more rewarding working environment while continuing to invest in its workforce.
The company has steadily increased pay over the last several years, including a major raise in 2023 and another increase announced in 2025, when Konami said its starting salary for new graduates would rise to ¥305,000 per month.
While salary announcements like this don’t usually make major headlines in the games industry, Konami’s continued investment in employee compensation stands out at a time when much of the industry is still dealing with layoffs, restructuring, and studio closures.
It also comes as Konami continues to push forward with several major releases and projects, including renewed momentum around some of its biggest legacy franchises.
For now, it’s another sign that Konami is doubling down not just on its games but on the people making them.
