Level-5 has officially announced Snack World: Reloaded, a full remake of its action RPG, with development underway for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
Revealed during the studio’s Level-5 Vision 2026 showcase, the project is more than a simple remaster. According to the developer, Reloaded reworks gameplay systems, controls, and even the story to the point where it “almost feels like a brand-new game.”
The game is based on Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl Gold, which originally launched on Switch in 2020 as an expanded version of the earlier 3DS title.
This new version will feature enhanced visuals, described as having a diorama-like presentation, alongside a new game mode that lets players experience the story from the perspective of Chup, the anime’s protagonist.
Details are still fairly limited, and no release window has been announced, but Level-5 says development is progressing well.
For now, it looks like Snack World: Reloaded is shaping up to be a much bigger overhaul than expected and potentially one of the more surprising RPG revivals heading to Switch 2.
