Level-5 has confirmed that the next Yo-kai Watch project is still in development, offering a small but notable update on the future of the long-running franchise.
The update comes following the studio’s recent showcase, where no platforms or release window were announced. Details on the project itself also remain under wraps for now.
That said, given Level-5’s current direction, it’s likely the new Yo-kai Watch title will land on modern platforms such as Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC, though that has yet to be confirmed.
The Yo-kai Watch series was once one of Level-5’s biggest hits, particularly in Japan, blending creature collection with RPG mechanics and a strong multimedia push across games, anime, and merchandise. However, the franchise has been relatively quiet in recent years.
For now, this latest update doesn’t give much away but it does confirm that Yo-kai Watch isn’t going anywhere just yet.
