Xbox First Look: Metro 2039 Set for April 16 With World Premiere Reveal

LET’S GOOOOOOO

Xbox has announced a new digital showcase, Xbox First Look: Metro 2039, set to air on April 16, offering a world premiere look at the next entry in the long-running post-apocalyptic shooter series.

The game, developed by 4A Games and published by Deep Silver, marks the fourth mainline installment in the franchise, following Metro 2033 (2010), Metro: Last Light (2013), and Metro Exodus (2019).

The broadcast will go live at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm UK via a YouTube Premiere on the official Xbox channel, and will include subtitle support across a wide range of languages, alongside accessibility options like audio descriptions and American Sign Language (ASL) versions.

For those who miss it live, Xbox Wire will publish a full recap immediately after the event wraps.

Xbox also confirmed that co-streaming is supported, though creators have been advised to avoid copyrighted music in post-show content to prevent automated takedowns.

While details on Metro 2039 are still under wraps, the reveal marks the first official look at the next chapter in the series based on the novels by Dmitry Glukhovsky, continuing its focus on life after nuclear devastation in and around Moscow.
