IO Interactive have delayed 007 First Light on Nintendo Switch 2 to March 2027. Having released back in May 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, IO state that “This additional time will go toward polishing the Nintendo Switch 2 performance of the game.”
There was some Nintendo Switch 2 footage of 007 First Light shared at a Nintendo Direct less than a week before the news was announced, it’s at the start of the embedded video below for anyone interested seeing it in its current state:
The game was also playable at Gamescom and Tokyo Games Show which IO highlight to support it being a “great sign of the progress being made across the whole game as we head toward launch.”
This isn’t the first time developers have struggled to get a heavy AAA game ported to the portable console, so it’s good that IO Interactive is taking the time they need to do it justice. And, the last delay for the original release platforms was well worth it as we at 1-Up gave the game a 10/10 review score!
