THQ Nordic and developer Alkimia Interactive have announced that Gothic Remake has sold more than 500,000 copies just one week after its launch.

The remake, which released on June 5 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, has also enjoyed a strong debut on Valve’s platform. On June 7, the game reached a peak of nearly 78,000 concurrent players and has since accumulated more than 15,000 user reviews, earning an 85% “Very Positive” rating.

In a statement celebrating the milestone, THQ Nordic thanked both new players and long-time fans of the series.

“Alkimia Interactive and THQ Nordic are thrilled by this initial success and extend a heartfelt thank you to all players who have entered the Colony so far—and especially to all of the long-time dedicated fans who have supported the Gothic franchise over the past 25 years.”

The publisher also confirmed that support for the remake will continue in the coming weeks and months, with Alkimia Interactive planning ongoing updates and improvements.

The strong launch marks an encouraging start for the long-awaited reimagining of the 2001 RPG, suggesting there is still significant demand for the classic fantasy franchise more than two decades after its original release.
