Nintendo has confirmed that Mario Kart Tour will permanently shut down on September 29, bringing an end to the mobile racing game after nearly seven years of service.
Once the servers go offline, the game will no longer be playable, as no offline version is planned.
Originally released for iOS and Android in September 2019, Mario Kart Tour brought Nintendo’s iconic kart racing series to mobile devices with touch controls, rotating tours, and a large roster of characters, karts, and tracks inspired by the wider Mario universe.
The title continued receiving regular content updates for several years before Nintendo shifted to rerunning existing tours rather than introducing new content.
While Nintendo has not shared a detailed reason for ending service, the company confirmed that players will be unable to access the game after the shutdown, with no standalone offline mode being developed.
Players have until September 29 to enjoy Mario Kart Tour before the servers are permanently taken offline.
