CD PROJEKT RED has officially announced Songs of the Past, a brand-new third expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The expansion is set to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, more than a decade after the original game first released in 2015.
Titled Songs of the Past, the expansion will once again put players in the boots of Geralt of Rivia for an entirely new adventure. According to CD Projekt RED, the project is being co-developed with Fool’s Theory, a studio made up of several veterans who previously worked on The Witcher 3.
While story details remain under wraps, the announcement confirms more information will be revealed in late Summer 2026.
The reveal is a massive surprise given many fans believed Blood and Wine would serve as Geralt’s final major story. Instead, CD Projekt RED is returning to one of gaming’s most beloved RPGs for one more expansion nearly 12 years later.
Since launch, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold more than 60 million copies worldwide and remains one of the most awarded games ever made, earning over 250 Game of the Year awards.
