Panache Digital Games has revealed a release date alongside a new gameplay trailer.
1666: Amsterdam is finally getting a playable release, with Panache Digital Games confirming that the dark third-person action adventure will launch into Early Access on August 25 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The new gameplay trailer gives players a better look at what to expect, including the game’s investigation mechanics, combat, day-and-night cycle, and supernatural abilities.
The game follows Noa Brooklyn, a young woman who takes on the mantle of the Collector, alongside Aaron, a character from 1999 who now finds himself seeing the world through the eyes of a cat.
The story itself spans three different timelines 1666, 1999, and the present day as players uncover a mystery that stretches back centuries.
One of the more interesting elements is the ability to choose a companion early in the story, with that decision influencing who accompanies Noa on her journey.
The Early Access release will serve as the beginning of the experience, with Panache describing the current version as a prologue that introduces the world, characters, and larger mystery surrounding Amsterdam.
