IO Interactive has released a major free update for 007 First Light, introducing new content, gameplay features, and improvements for players across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Titled Extended Operations, the update arrives alongside version 1.3.0 and adds a new TacSim activity, a fresh operation, New Game Plus, Photo Mode, additional weapons, and new outfits.
007 First Light Adds New Game Plus and 00 Difficulty
One of the biggest additions is New Game Plus, allowing players to replay the campaign after completing it once. The mode introduces greater outfit customization, flexible gadget selection, and a new difficulty option.
Players can now switch between unlocked gadgets during missions rather than waiting until the next chapter, offering more freedom to adapt to different situations.
The update also introduces 00 Difficulty, the game’s toughest challenge. Enemies detect players faster and deal more damage, while gadget resources become significantly more limited. Players must complete the campaign to unlock it.
Photo Mode is another major addition, giving players access to camera settings, filters, visual effects, overlays, and character poses to capture their favourite moments.
New Operations, Weapons, and Outfits
Extended Operations expands the TacSim mode with two new activities:
- Valhalla Protocol: Take control of the Aston Martin Valhalla in Slovakia, using mounted machine guns and missile launchers to tackle a high-scoring driving challenge.
- Jungle Heist: Return to The Pearl Hotel in Vietnam to retrieve valuable documents, with each attempt offering a different experience.
The update also introduces two new TacSim weapons: the Storm 12 Gauge and Squire Marksman Rifle. Three outfits Observant Spy, Leisure Beam, and First Class are available by default.
Players can also meet Jack the Bulldog at MI6 headquarters, where Bond can interact with the organisation’s newest four-legged resident.
Free Outfit Available for a Limited Time
IO Interactive is offering an additional reward for players who connect their game to an IOI Account. The Grey Standard outfit can be unlocked by linking an account before November 1, 2026.
The update also improves combat animations, including weapon handling, reloads, aiming transitions, and weapon swaps, making combat feel smoother and more responsive.
007 First Light is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled to launch in March 2027.
