tri-Ace has released an upgraded version of its cult-classic JRPG, featuring improved visuals, faster gameplay and a discounted upgrade for existing owners.
Developer tri-Ace has officially released Resonance of Fate Enhanced Remaster for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, bringing its distinctive gun-focused RPG back with several new improvements.
Originally released in 2010 before receiving a 4K/HD remaster in 2018, Resonance of Fate has developed a dedicated following thanks to its unusual combat mechanics, memorable characters and distinctive science-fiction setting.
The Enhanced Remaster builds upon the previous release with upgraded visuals and a new gameplay speed option, offering both returning fans and newcomers another opportunity to experience the cult-classic JRPG.
What’s New in Resonance of Fate Enhanced Remaster?
The biggest improvements in Resonance of Fate Enhanced Remaster focus on graphical quality and overall gameplay convenience.
tri-Ace has introduced enhanced textures across environments, character models and towns, alongside improved rendering that delivers a sharper presentation than the previous 4K/HD Edition.
Players can also enable a new decimation filter, which further improves fine details such as character hair.
Another notable addition is the 2x Game Speed feature, allowing players to double the speed of exploration, combat and story events.
The option should make revisiting the game more convenient, particularly for players looking to reduce downtime between encounters.
Despite these enhancements, the game retains its signature Hero Action combat system, which combines tactical positioning with fast-paced gunplay.
A Cult-Classic JRPG Returns
Resonance of Fate takes place in a distant future where humanity struggles to survive on a devastated Earth.
Civilisation has become dependent on Basel, an enormous mechanical structure designed to regulate the environment and sustain human life.
Players follow three mercenaries, Zephyr, Vashyron and Leanne, as their everyday assignments gradually uncover the mysteries surrounding Basel and the world they inhabit.
The game also features a soundtrack composed by Kohei Tanaka and Motoi Sakuraba.
Resonance of Fate Enhanced Remaster Price and Upgrade Details
Resonance of Fate Enhanced Remaster is available now on PS5 and PC, with a price of $52.95.
Players who already own Resonance of Fate 4K/HD Edition on PlayStation 4 or PC can upgrade to the Enhanced Remaster for $13.95 , rather than purchasing the new edition at full price.
However, the PC version has an unusual purchasing requirement. Steam users must own the original 4K/HD Edition before they can purchase the Enhanced Remaster as downloadable content.
Australian pricing has not yet been verified.
