Developer Eclipse Glow Games has confirmed that Tides of Annihilation will be playable for the first time at Gamescom 2026, giving attendees the opportunity to experience the upcoming action title ahead of its release.
The hands-on demo marks the game’s first time playable by the public allowing players to step into the role of Gwendolyn, the protagonist of the post-apocalyptic adventure. The demo will feature branching paths, exploration, multiple environments, and a deep look at the game’s fast-paced combat system.
Set across a devastated modern-day London and the mythical realm of Avalon, Tides of Annihilation follows Gwendolyn as she searches for her missing sister while uncovering the truth behind a catastrophic invasion that has reshaped reality.
Eclipse Glow Games, a studio based in Chengdu, China, is made up of developers who have previously worked on franchises including Assassin’s Creed, For Honor, and Yakuza. Tides of Annihilation is the team’s debut title.
Commenting on the announcement, co-CEO Ary Chen said Gamescom represents a major milestone for the studio.
“Gamescom will be an incredibly important moment for our team since this will be our first global playtest. We’re excited to see how first-time players experience our game.”
In addition to the playable demo, a brand-new trailer for Tides of Annihilation will premiere during Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley.
Gamescom 2026 takes place from August 26–30 in Cologne, Germany.
