Xbox has officially confirmed that Platinum Trophy-style achievements are finally coming to the platform, more than a decade after fans first began requesting the feature.
The announcement came from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who confirmed on social media that the long-awaited addition will arrive later this year. While no further details or release window were shared, the confirmation follows a recent Xbox system update that introduced several community-requested features.
The new feature is expected to function similarly to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy, which is awarded after players unlock every other trophy in a game.
Although Xbox pioneered the Achievement system with the launch of the Xbox 360 in 2005, it has never included a platform-wide reward for earning every achievement in a title. Most Xbox games instead award up to 1,000 Gamerscore, with some games offering a standard achievement for completing the rest of the list.
Sony introduced Trophies in 2008, adding the now-iconic Platinum Trophy as an extra reward for players who achieve 100% completion. The feature has since become one of PlayStation’s defining progression systems and a favourite among completionists.
Xbox has yet to explain exactly how its version will work or whether it will be tied to Gamerscore, but more details are expected closer to launch.
The feature is currently scheduled to roll out later in 2026.
