Black Ops 7 getting persistent lobbies

The good old days

Treyach have shared a blog post on the Call of Duty website detailing some changes coming to Call of Duty Black Ops 7 at launch with a commitment to further reviewing of the data from the beta.

Open Matchmaking

Open Matchmaking where skill is only a small factor in lobby creation is going to be the default matchmaking type at launch.

Our team feels strongly about providing players with a more varied experience, and the Beta proved to be a great opportunity to test this approach. We’ll be sharing more details as we get closer to launch!

Persistent Lobbies

Persistent Lobbies where players remain together after a match by default will be returning at the launch of Black Ops 7. This aligns with online services starting to move to the Microsoft owned Azure Cloud.

…as we mentioned earlier during the Beta, we’re focused on keeping players together from match to match more often.

The blog posts also touches on Aim Assist and RICOCHET Anti-Cheat and is worth checking out for those interested.
