Bandai Namco has officially announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, with the next entry in the long-running action RPG series set to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The reveal confirms what had previously been teased as “Project Age 1000,” now officially part of the Xenoverse line.

While full gameplay details are still limited, early information points to a new storyline set in “Age 1000,” a time period far beyond the events of the original Dragon Ball timeline. This shift suggests a fresh setting, alongside new characters and returning favourites, continuing the series’ signature mix of custom characters, time travel, and alternate-history storytelling.

The project has reportedly been in development for several years and was formally unveiled during Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, where a first trailer was shown.

For context, the Xenoverse series has been one of the most successful modern Dragon Ball game lines, blending RPG progression with arena-style combat and long-term post-launch support with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 still receiving updates years after release.

Right now, there’s no exact release date beyond the 2027 window, and more details including gameplay systems, roster, and online features are expected closer to launch.

For now, though, Xenoverse is officially back and it’s aiming much bigger this time around.
