Activision and Infinity Ward have officially revealed the beta schedule for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, giving players multiple opportunities to jump into the game’s multiplayer ahead of its release this October.
Both an Early Access Beta for pre-order customers and an Open Beta for all players have been confirmed across multiple platforms.
Early Access Beta Begins August 21
Players who pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will receive access to the Early Access Beta, which runs from August 21 to August 25.
The Early Access Beta will be available on:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC
A week later, the beta will open to everyone.
The Open Beta will run from August 28 through September 1 and expands platform availability to include Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
This will be the first opportunity for all players to experience the game’s multiplayer ahead of launch, regardless of whether they have pre-ordered.
Call of Duty: NEXT Returns
Coinciding with the start of the Early Access Beta, Activision will host Call of Duty: NEXT on August 21.
The annual showcase will feature:
- Live multiplayer gameplay
- A full breakdown of Modern Warfare 4’s multiplayer modes and features
- New announcements and reveals ahead of the beta
The event is expected to provide the most detailed look yet at the game’s online experience.
Activision has also released a brand-new trailer showcasing more of the game’s action ahead of the upcoming beta tests.
