Arc System Works has officially unveiled Phoenix Cyclops as the first post-launch DLC fighter coming to Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, giving fans their first look at one of the game’s Year One characters during San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
The reveal comes just weeks before the fighting game’s launch on August 6, confirming that Arc System Works already has substantial post-launch content planned.
The Phoenix Force Comes to Marvel Tōkon
Rather than the traditional version of Scott Summers, the DLC introduces Phoenix Cyclops, based on the fan-favourite Phoenix Five storyline from Marvel’s Avengers vs. X-Men comic series.
Empowered by the cosmic Phoenix Force, this version of Cyclops combines his signature Optic Blasts with devastating new fiery abilities.
According to producer Takeshi Yamanaka, players can expect a fighter that stays true to Cyclops’ iconic combat style while embracing the immense power of the Phoenix.
“In addition to powerful Optic Blasts and exceptional hand-to-hand combat abilities that define the character, this Cyclops also possesses the Phoenix Force, so expect Scott Summers to bring the heat.”
Yamanaka added that Arc System Works will reveal more details about Phoenix Cyclops’ gameplay and moveset closer to his release.
Phoenix Cyclops will once again be voiced by Ray Chase, who also portrays the character in Marvel Rivals and X-Men ’97, bringing consistency to one of Marvel’s most recognisable X-Men heroes.
Year One DLC Detailed
Phoenix Cyclops is the first of four fighters included in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ Year One DLC Pass.
