SEGA’s open-world Sonic adventure has reached another major sales milestone, with a free Sonic Adventure 2 cosmetic also available to celebrate.
Sonic Frontiers has officially sold more than five million copies worldwide, SEGA has announced.
The game originally launched in November 2022 and has since been released across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and more recently, Switch 2.
The milestone represents continued growth for the game, which was last reported to have sold more than 4.57 million copies in June 2025.
To celebrate reaching five million sales, SEGA has also made Sonic’s iconic shoes from Sonic Adventure 2 available to all players.
Sonic Frontiers remains one of the most successful modern Sonic releases, and with the game continuing to sell years after its original launch, the Blue Blur’s move into open-zone gameplay appears to have paid off.
