KRAFTON and PUBG Studios have announced PUBG: DED.NET, a brand-new multiplayer first-person shooter set within a darker and stranger corner of the PUBG universe.
Unlike traditional battle royale games, PUBG: DED.NET combines multiplayer FPS combat with run-based roguelite progression, allowing players to experiment with different abilities, builds and strategies across multiple matches. Set in the strange world of 1990s Cascadia, the game embraces a distinctly darker tone filled with grunge music, body horror and the occult.
Players will be able to scavenge resources, treat injuries, unlock abilities and customise their approach to combat, with some particularly unconventional tactics available. You can reportedly use car doors as shields, play dead, hack payphones to steal money from rivals, and even cannibalise enemies to restore health.
Perhaps the biggest twist is that death isn’t the end which is crazy. Progression carries over between runs, meaning every failed match can help build towards a stronger and more dangerous next attempt.
PUBG: DED.NET is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. A release date has not yet been announced.
