A new report suggests the unannounced fighting game could feature one returning hero and a newcomer to the series.
A new leak has reportedly revealed two potential playable characters for Injustice 3, with Supergirl and Batwoman said to be joining the roster.
According to MP1st, evidence points to both characters appearing in NetherRealm Studios’ unannounced fighting game. Supergirl previously appeared in Injustice 2, while Batwoman would make her debut in the mainline series if the report is accurate.
Batwoman’s potential inclusion also raises questions about the game’s story. Kate Kane dies in the Injustice comic series, meaning the character’s appearance could involve a different person taking up the mantle, a change to the established storyline, or a new continuity altogether. MP1st suggests Injustice 3 could be a reboot rather than a direct continuation of the previous games.
Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce Injustice 3, and the reported roster details remain unconfirmed. The series began with Injustice: Gods Among Us in 2013, followed by Injustice 2 in 2017. NetherRealm has since released Mortal Kombat 11 and Mortal Kombat 1, leaving the future of its DC fighting game series unclear.
