Spiders has confirmed it will shut down after 18 years, with the Paris-based studio entering full liquidation.
The developer known for titles like GreedFall, Steelrising, GreedFall: The Dying World and the upcoming DLC shared the news in a statement, confirming operations will cease immediately.
“We have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated… This means the company as a whole no longer exists.”
One Final Release Before the End
Despite the closure, planned DLC for GreedFall: The Dying World will still launch via Nacon.
After that, the studio made its position clear:
“The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then well, that’s it.”
According to the statement, the closure follows a prolonged period of uncertainty, with the team receiving confirmation only recently.
Over nearly two decades, Spiders built a reputation for ambitious, story-driven RPGs that punched above their weight in the AA space. Now, with the studio closing its doors for good, its legacy ends not with a new release but with a final piece of DLC.
After 18 years, Spiders is done and there’s no second act coming.
