Fumito Ueda’s New Game Officially Revealed as gen ATLAS

After years of speculation, genDESIGN and Epic Games Publishing have officially unveiled gen ATLAS, the next game from legendary creator Fumito Ueda.

Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games Store, gen ATLAS is a single-player open-world action-adventure game that sees players awaken on a mysterious abandoned planet filled with colossal structures, forgotten technology, and the remnants of an ancient civilization.

As players explore the vast world, they’ll encounter a gigantic robot whose immense power allows access to previously unreachable locations, gradually revealing the secrets of the planet.

The game’s debut trailer showcased the lonely atmosphere and sense of scale that fans have come to expect from Ueda’s work, while hinting at a much larger and more open experience than his previous titles.

Ueda is best known for creating the critically acclaimed classics ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, all of which became renowned for their minimalist storytelling, emotional themes, and unforgettable worlds.

While a release date has yet to be announced, gen ATLAS is already shaping up to be one of the most intriguing reveals from Summer Game Fest 2026.
