Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Oh BiBi have officially opened pre-registration for Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, the upcoming free-to-play multiplayer hero shooter coming to iOS and Android devices.
Announced via the PlayStation Blog, the mobile spin-off aims to bring the long-running PlayStation franchise to a new audience while staying true to the series’ signature blend of inventive weapons, fast-paced action, and lighthearted humor.
Captain Qwark’s Latest Simulation
Set within a combat simulation created by the ever-overconfident Captain Qwark, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble challenges players to become the next generation of Galactic Rangers.
The game launches with 12 playable heroes, including familiar faces alongside brand-new characters created specifically for the title. According to developer Oh BiBi, the team worked closely with Insomniac Games to develop new Lombaxes and expand the series’ lore, with input from developers who helped shape the franchise’s earliest entries.
Each hero features their own unique abilities, weapons, playstyle, and unlockable cosmetic items.
Six Modes Available at Launch
Players will have several ways to jump into the action when the game releases, with six game modes confirmed for launch.
These include:
- Team-based PvP battles
- Cooperative PvE missions
- A battle royale-inspired mode
- A football-inspired competitive mode
- Additional multiplayer experiences designed around the series’ over-the-top combat
The developer says authenticity has been a major focus throughout development. Alongside classic weapons and characters, the soundtrack draws inspiration from the music of the original PlayStation 2 trilogy to recreate the series’ nostalgic feel.
The studio also noted that longtime fans have already requested the game’s soundtrack be released on streaming services, highlighting the positive reception the music has received so far.
Pre-Registration Rewards Revealed
Players who pre-register will contribute toward a series of global community milestones that unlock rewards for everyone once the game launches.
Rewards include:
- Qredits
- Reebos
- Raritanium
- An exclusive Clank Suit skin for Widget if the final milestone is reached
All unlocked rewards will be distributed to players when the game officially launches.

Pre-registration for Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is available now through the App Store and Google Play worldwide. While Sony has yet to announce a release date, the development team says it is continuing to polish the experience and tease additional surprises ahead of launch.
A brand-new gameplay trailer has also been released, offering fans their best look yet at the mobile spin-off’s hero-based combat and multiplayer modes.
