Bandai Namco has revealed the release date for its new narrative-driven Gundam adventure.
Gundam: Rogue Orbit will launch on March 5, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The release date was revealed during the latest State of Play alongside a new trailer showcasing the game’s story, characters, and customizable Mobile Suit combat.
Players take control of RE-X, an elite pilot operating the Gundam Helix, alongside Vii, an intelligent Haro unit created specifically for the Mobile Suit. Together, they become caught up in a conflict surrounding the mysterious Apocalypse.
The latest trailer also introduces several characters, including Sofia, April, Big Paul, and Elaine, while teasing a mysterious black Mobile Suit with glowing red eyes.
Combat will place a major emphasis on customization. Players can modify their Mobile Suit with different weapons, structures, thrusters, and Apocalypse Units (AP-U), while also customizing its colour scheme. Each weapon features its own abilities and actions, giving players plenty of freedom to build their preferred combat style.
Gundam: Rogue Orbit is shaping up to be a more story-focused take on the franchise, with its expansive battlefields and deep Mobile Suit customization providing plenty of room for experimentation when it launches next year.
